Dance Bag Sewing Pattern

How To
- Begin by cutting out your pieces of outer fabric, lining fabric, and batting according to the pattern sizes mentioned above.
- Lay one piece of outer fabric right side up on your work surface. Pin the short ends of one of your webbing handles to the top edges of the fabric, making sure to leave a 1" overhang from the edge.
- Place the other piece of outer fabric right side down on top of the first piece, sandwiching the webbing handles in between. Pin and sew around the top and sides of the bag using a 1/2" seam allowance, leaving the bottom edge open.
- Repeat steps 2-3 with the lining fabric, making sure to leave a 4-6" opening on one side for turning the bag right side out later.
- Place the outer fabric bag right side out, and slide the lining bag inside so that the wrong sides are together. Pin along the top edge and sew together using a 1/2" seam allowance.
- Turn the bag right side out through the opening in the lining, and sew the opening closed using a ladder stitch.
- Optional: Add a ruffle to the top edge of the bag by cutting a strip of fabric that is 3 times the width of the bag opening. Sew a basting stitch along one long edge of the fabric, gather the fabric to fit the bag, and pin and sew in place.
