DIY Christmas Ornaments: Fabric Christmas Trees Sewing Pattern

These adorable little trees are not only fun and easy to make, but they also make great gifts for your family and friends. Plus, they're a perfect way to use up some scraps of fabric you might have lying around. So, let's get started!

How to Make Fabric Christmas Trees

Here's what you'll need to get started:

  • Fabric scraps (in green and brown)
  • Card stock (or cardboard)
  • Hot glue gun
  • Scissors
  • Sewing machine (optional)
  • Thread
  • Stuffing (or polyfill)
  • Twine (or ribbon)

Step 1: Cut your fabric scraps into triangles of varying sizes - this will be the "branches" of your Christmas tree. Cut a small rectangle of brown fabric for the trunk of the tree.

Step 2: Sew the triangles together lengthwise to create a strip of fabric. Fold in half and sew the two short ends together. Turn the fabric right side out and stuff with stuffing.

Step 3: Repeat this process with the remaining triangles, stuffing as you go, until you have a full "tree."

Step 4: Cut a small circle out of card stock (or cardboard) to use as the base for your tree. Hot glue the trunk of the tree to the cardboard circle.

Step 5: Hot glue the "tree" to the cardboard base and hold until dry.

Step 6: Add a small bow made from twine or ribbon to the top of your tree.

And there you have it - your very own fabric Christmas tree! Repeat the process with different fabrics and colors to create a variety of trees to display around your home.

Tips & Tricks

Here are some tips for making the perfect fabric Christmas trees:

  • Use a variety of green fabric scraps to create a realistic, textured tree.
  • If you don't have a sewing machine, you can hand stitch the triangles together.
  • Experiment with different sizes and shapes of triangles to create unique trees.
  • Use a strong hot glue to hold the tree in place on the cardboard base.
  • Don't forget the finishing touch - a festive bow or ribbon topping!

We hope you give this project a try and create some fun and festive decorations to brighten up your home this holiday season. Happy crafting!
