Pattern Sizes
The finished octopus will measure about 18cm tall and 20cm wide.
How To
1. Firstly, print out the octopus pattern and cut out the pieces.
2. Now, pin the pattern to the fleece fabric and carefully cut out the pieces. Make sure to cut two body pieces, two head pieces and 16 leg pieces.
3. Sew the legs together in pairs, so you have eight leg pairs in total. Turn them the right side out and stuff them.
4. Take one of the body pieces and sew the head to it, matching up the notches. Repeat with the second body piece.
5. Take one of the leg pairs and sew its open ends onto the first body piece, aligning it with the two notches on both sides of the head. Repeat with the remaining seven leg pairs.
6. Place the two body pieces right sides together and pin. Sew around the edges, leaving a 7cm gap for turning. Turn the octopus right side out through the gap and stuff it.
7. Use a nylon thread to close the gap with a ladder stitch, making sure the stuffing is evenly distributed throughout the octopus.
And there you have it, your very own adorable octopus plushie! This is a perfect sewing project for beginners, and I can't recommend it enough.
Happy sewing!
