How to Make DIY Luggage Tags

First, gather all of the materials you will need. You'll need fabric scraps, fusible interfacing, clear vinyl, a sewing machine, thread, and a rotary cutter or scissors.

Start by prewashing your fabric and ironing it flat. Then, cut out two rectangles of fabric that are 6 inches by 3 inches each. Cut out two rectangles of fusible interfacing that are the same size as your fabric rectangles.

Take one of your fabric rectangles and place it right side up on your cutting mat. Then, take your clear vinyl and place it on top of the fabric, aligning the top edge of the vinyl with the top edge of the fabric. Pin the vinyl in place.

Next, place the second fabric rectangle on top of the vinyl and pin all three layers together. Sew around the edges of the three layers, leaving a small opening at the bottom for turning.

Trim the corners of your fabric close to the seam allowance, and then turn the tag right side out. Use a chopstick or other pointed tool to push out the corners, and then press the tag with an iron to make it flat.

Now it's time to add the fusible interfacing to the back of your tag. Simply follow the manufacturer's instructions to fuse the interfacing to the back of your tag.

For the final step, fold the tag in half and sew around the edges to secure it closed. Then, add a ribbon or other embellishment to make it unique!

Now that you know how to make your own luggage tags, you'll never have trouble finding your suitcase again. And the best part is, you can make them any way you like, so they truly reflect your personality! Happy travels!
