How to Make Your Own Eyeglass Case

Materials you will need:

  • Fabric (2 pieces that measure 8x4 inches and 1 piece that measures 4x4 inches)
  • Metal eyelets (2)
  • Cord or ribbon (12 inches)
  • Thread

Instructions:

  1. Take your 2 pieces of fabric that measure 8x4 inches and lay them on top of each other right sides together.
  2. Pin the 2 pieces of fabric together along the edges, leaving a 1/4 inch seam allowance.
  3. Sew along the edges, leaving one of the short sides open.
  4. Turn the fabric right side out.
  5. Take the 4x4 inch piece of fabric and fold it in half. Sew along the edges, leaving one of the short sides open.
  6. Place the metal eyelets onto the fabric where you want your drawstring to go. Follow the instructions included with the eyelets to attach them to the fabric.
  7. Attach the drawstring to the small piece of fabric by threading it through the eyelets and tying a knot at each end.
  8. Take the larger piece of fabric and fold it in half. Line up the two open ends together.
  9. Pin the smaller piece of fabric (with the drawstring) onto the larger piece of fabric, covering the open ends that you just pinned together.
  10. Sew along the edges of the larger piece of fabric, attaching the smaller piece of fabric at the same time. Be sure to leave the drawstring outside of the seams.
  11. Turn the eyeglass case right side out.
  12. Your eyeglass case is complete and ready to use!
