Mail Organizer

How to sew a fabric mail organizer for the wall

Before you get started on this project, you will need to gather a few materials:

  • 1 yard of your favorite fabric
  • Coordinating thread
  • 3 small hooks
  • 1 large wooden dowel
  • 4 wooden beads
  • Needle
  • Scissors

Here are the steps:

  1. Cut out two 30-inch pieces of fabric, and one 12-inch piece.
  2. Place the two 30-inch pieces of fabric, right sides facing each other, and sew them together at one end. Once sewn together, this will form a large pocket.
  3. Turn the pocket right side out and press it.
  4. Take the 12-inch piece of fabric, fold it in half (right sides facing each other), and sew along the long edge.
  5. Turn the piece right side out and press it.
  6. Sew the smaller pocket onto one of the 30-inch fabric edges. Make sure the pocket is centered.
  7. Sew the two ends together, forming the top of the organizer.
  8. Using a needle and coordinating thread, sew the three hooks in a row on the center of the organizer's top.
  9. Thread the large dowel and beads through the top hem of the organizer.
  10. You're done! Mount the organizer onto your wall using the hooks and enjoy a newly organized space.
